The 03 Day Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu tour is a favorite choice for adventure enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, and those passionate about extreme sports. Primarily, this journey offers a comprehensive adventure package including biking, hiking, and ziplining.
Crucially, participants will experience the breathtaking and diverse landscapes of the Andes, ranging from lush tropical jungles to towering snow-covered peaks. Throughout the trek, you’ll encounter a rich variety of local flora and fauna across multiple ecosystems. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy local produce directly from the fields, including coffee, various fruits, and coca leaves.
From start to finish, this tour promises to provide immense joy and satisfaction for all participants!
Initially, we’ll collect you and proceed by road to the Sacred Valley, reaching the town of Ollantaytambo (2,792 meters / 9,160 feet) for a short break and any last-minute shopping necessities. Our journey then takes us uphill to the high Abra Malaga pass (4,316 meters / 14,160 feet) where we’ll start our biking descent. After gearing up with the appropriate equipment and receiving a brief orientation from our guide, we’ll embark on a thrilling 3 to 4-hour descent from the high peaks near the glacier down to the jungles. We’ll enjoy lunch together during this segment. A brief bus transfer will then transport us to Santa Teresa (1,550 meters / 5,085 feet), where we’ll relax in the hot springs and spend the night.
Today, we start our day early to journey towards the town of Aguas Calientes (2,040 meters / 6,692 feet). Along the route, we’ll pause to admire the local fields abundant with native fruits and diverse wild vegetation.
Here, you’ll have the optional opportunity to try the zip-line or canopy tour at an additional cost. We’ll have lunch at the Hydroelectric Station (2,070 meters / 6,791 feet) followed by a short break. After approximately 3 hours of walking, we’ll reach Aguas Calientes for dinner and overnight rest.
This day is the highlight of our journey as we explore one of the world’s wonders, the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.
We’ll rise early for breakfast and then board a bus to Machu Picchu. With some luck, we might witness the sun’s first rays illuminating this enchanting mountain at dawn.
The guided tour of the Sanctuary will last approximately 2 hours. Afterward, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and relaxation before catching an afternoon train to Ollantaytambo.
Upon reaching Ollantaytambo, our ground transportation will be ready to transfer us back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
