The Exploring Machu Picchu Tour offers a captivating day trip that includes one of the world’s most remarkable train journeys. Tracing the path of the Urubamba River, the train journey unfolds against the backdrop of the stunning Andean highlands. Abandoned, likely due to a smallpox epidemic, the city remained hidden from the world for over three centuries following the Spanish conquest of the Incan Empire. To kick off our Best Machu Picchu Tour, we’ll pick you up bright and early from your hotel in Cusco. Our journey begins as we travel in a private touristic van to the vibrant town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. From there, we’ll board a train bound for Aguas Calientes. The train ride itself is a treat, offering picturesque views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas as it follows the winding path of the river.
Upon reaching Aguas Calientes, our tour guide will be waiting to welcome you. You’ll then head to the bus station for a scenic ride up to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, for your guided tour.
